EPL Betting Review

Joe Dyer takes a look at the weekend's EPL action to see how the soccer odds played out in some big clashes involving the league's top teams.

Chelsea took maximum advantage of last year's EPL champions, Manchester United's Saturday slip-up with a comprehensive defeat of Liverpool on Sunday.

The 2-0 win sent the Blues top of the league where, thanks to a two point cushion, they assume clear favoritism over the Old Trafford club in the soccer betting at [2.7].

Liverpool struggled to create a clear chance throughout the clash and have now jumped to double figures in the EPL title odds at [10.0].

There were happy scenes at the Emirates Stadium, where Arsenal celebrated the 13th anniversary of Arsene Wenger's tenure with a 6-2 battering of Blackburn Rovers.

Sam Allardyce's men twice took the lead at the Emirates to enable the home team to climb to [1.8] on the exchange. Short price backers were happy to take [1.1] about Rovers, given a [2.5] goal headstart.

The win makes Arsenal third favorites for the title at [7.2] and sends Wenger's men into the top four ahead of Manchester City's visit to Aston Villa.

There was also drama at Upton Park where West Ham managed to secure a last-gasp draw after giving up an early lead against Fulham.

Backed into [1.17] after Carlton Cole's opener, the Hammers conceded two in quick succession, to trail going into the last half hour. They used up almost all that time to peg back their west London rivals before securing the draw thanks to Junior Stanislas' 92nd minute effort. The draw drifted to a high of [8.2].

Another team which disappointed the home fans was Everton who could only manage a 1-1 draw with Stoke. That result was backed at [5.8] in-running on Betfair.
