Sean Calvert

Sean is a freelance sports journalist, who has spent time working for the broadsheets in London and in the Midlands as a football correspondent for the regional press.
Although he has spent a sizable proportion of his career writing about football, his first love is tennis and Sean is now a regular contributor to various online publications and a tennis betting blog.
He lists his favourite recent betting successes as Radek Stepanek winning the Countrywide Classic in 2007 at 50-1; Venus Williams' Wimbledon victory of the same year, also at 50-1 when in trouble in the opening round; and Novak Djokovic obliging at the Australian Open this year at 9-1.
His favourite players to watch are Fernando Gonzalez and Stanislas Wawrinka, while Sean's players to avoid like the plague when considering a punt are Gael Monfils for his frustrating inconsistency; Tommy Haas for his tendency to quit mid-match through some sort of injury; Paul Henri-Mathieu for his mental frailty and Richard Gasquet for a combination of all of them.
