Paul Soucy's WSOP 2010

Paul Soucy talks November 9

Paul Soucy reminisces about another WSOP in the books with the establishment of the November Nine.

It took twelve sessions over thirteen days, and more than eighteen hours on the last day for the last nine players to make the final table. They navigated through a starting field of 7,319 and the final table of virtual unknowns will have until November 9th to ponder winning their first Main Event and the $8,944,138 first place prize money.

With the second largest field ever assembled for a Main Event, many of the big name pros battled to make deep runs. When the dust settled Michael " The Grinder " Mizrachi was the last of the well known pros to have made it. " I've never folded so much in my life!", exclaimed Mizrachi as he nursed his short stack of 7 million to 14,450,000 while ten players played for the last elimination. It was Brandon Steven's AK that couldn't improve vs Matt Jarvis' QQ's that knocked him out in 10th and set our final table.

Jonathan Duhamel from Boucherville, Quebec has the luxury of a chip lead with 65,975,000. Here are the final table players and their chip stacks:

1.Jonathan Duhamel 65,975,000
2.John Dolan 46,250,000
3.Joseph Cheong 23,525,000
4.John Racener 19,050,000
5.Matthew Jarvis 16,700,000
6.Fillippo Candio 16,400,000
7.Michael Mizrachi 14,450,000
8.Soi Nguyen 9,650,000
9.Jason Senti 7,625,000

These players all have been payed $811,823.00 (9th place money) and will have until November 9th to tune up their games for the televised final table which will be held in the Penn & Teller theater at the Rio. This final table grouping goes to show that you don't have to be a big name pro to achieve great things in our game.

Take it EZ.
