Canadian Paul Soucy - 115 straight hours of Poker.

Unabomber Blows Away Guiness record for Longest Poker Session.

They told him it was impossible but 37 year old poker pro Phil Laak has just played 110 hours/ 4days straight! Eclipsing the previous "unofficial" record of British pro Paul Zimbler who played 78 hours and 25 minutes last September in London during WSOP Europe.

Phil best known for his charismatic TV table presence and hooded sweatshirt started his record setting journey on Wednesday June 2nd, 2010 at Bellagio in Las Vegas. At a table in the back of the poker room Phil played in a 10/20 NL ring game while video cameras covered the entire feat.

The Guiness Book of World Records rules went like this: he gets a five minute break for every hour played and may accumulate them and use them all at once. The Unabomber did exactly that using his banked time to take a shower every 8 hours or so. He attributes his success to having dietedd down some 30lbs and cutting out all processed foods. At the table a personal chef served him nutritious meals every 5 hrs and he drank a combination of grean tea, regular tea and coffee as was needed.

Prop pets were flying everywhere as you can imagine and his good friend and fellow pro Antonio Esfandiari wagered a 6 figure sum that Phil could last 100 hrs. Well on Sunday June 6, 2010 that bet was money in the bank as Phil officially set a 115 hour poker session. Being quite the philanthropist Phil is donating half of his winnings as well as many memorabilia sales to Camp Sunshine. As I write this article his physician has given him a clean bill of health and after being awake for 115 straight hours he has crawled into his bed at home for a much needed sleep.

Take it Ez.
