Boxing Betting: Khan v Barrera - Good odds in a young market.
A new market was added to Betfair tonight after the fight between Britain's rising star Amir Khan and Mexican legend Marco Antonio Barrera was announced. No venue has been decided yet, but the fight will take place in Britain.
Barrera is a champion at three weights and has had 64 wins from his 71 fights. Olympic silver medalist Khan has had 19 wins from his 20 fights, but many still believe he still has a way to go before he realizes his full potential. Rumor has it that Barrera was originally destined to fight another fighter from the Frank Warren stable, but that fight fell through leaving this amazing opportunity which Khan has been longing for to prove how good he feels he is.
Khan seems confident that he can win this fight, but unless Barrera is starting to feel his age then it surely must go to the Mexican great.
So where does that leave us when it comes to making a bet? Well It looks like a good early opportunity to get a bet on Barrera at very good early odds He is being offered at 2 (+100) and I can only see that coming down as the fight draws closer.
