Value With the Cards

The Betting Advantage looks at the Sunday Night game between the Arizona Cardinals and the New York Giants for some NFL Betting value.

For the first time all season the New York Giants looked like an average team. Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints lit up the Giants for 48 points en route to an easy victory. Brees picked apart the Giants secondary for 369 yards and four touchdowns on just 23 completions and 30 pass attempts. This must have caught the attention of Kurt Warner and the Arizona Cardinal offence.

Arizona and New Orleans have similar offensive attacks. Both teams like to establish the pass first. The difference is that Arizona doesn't feel the need to balance their offence. The will throw the ball all day long. The Saints average 32.3 pass attempts per game, while the Cardinals lead the NFL with 42.2 in that category. As would be expected Arizona ranks last in rush attempts, on average they rush the ball less than 20 times per game. If the Giants had a tough time stopping the Saints pass game thing won't get any easier this week. Warner also has some better receivers to throw the ball to than Brees does. Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin are two of the game's best wide outs. Warner also uses Steve Breaston quite a bit out of the slot and Tim Hightower out of the backfield.

I think the Cardinals take a good look at the game film from last week and try to take advantage of the Giants in the same manor that the Saints did.

One difference is that this game will be played at the Meadowlands. The Giants have grown a reputation for being a team that is just as good on the road as at home. I don't think the fact that they were on the road last week is an excuse for what happened.

You can back the Cardinals on Betfair now for 3.9. You have to like these odds for value.
