Can Magic overcome Celtics?

The Betting Advantage takes a look at the build-up to the Celtics vs. Magic Game Six and makes his NBA prediction.

It's fair to say that this hasn't been the most entertaining of series so far, particularly compared to the Celtics, Bulls series. To be fair, however, it was unrealistic to expect another series like that.

This said, game five was the type of game we saw in that series, with its exciting finish and big comeback. The Celtics were down 14 points in the fourth quarter. If nothing else, this play-off season has proved that the Celtics should never be ruled out of a game. Following the philosophy of laying the favorite in-play has definitely proved to be profitable in Celtic games.

Game five was an embarrassment for the Orlando Magic. It looked like they had the game well in hand and you now have to wonder how much a blow like that will carry over into the next game.

After game five, Dwight Howard stated that he would like the ball more. Since then he has apologized to Magic head Coach Stan Van Gundy, but the statement has not been retracted. This situation makes you wonder if the Magic will play as a team or as individuals.

So, we have the Magic's collapse in game five and Howard's statements working in favour of the Celtics. I still fancy Orlando to dominate this game. Boston have trouble finishing off teams in game six on the road, a trend that became all too clear last year and again in the first round this year.

It almost seems like they wait until the absolute last moment before turning it on in both games and series. I think Orlando can put it together and come up big at home with a strong crowd behind them. I expect a similar showing to the one that Magic gave in game three where Howard was dominant and the entire Magic team showed great intensity.

My NBA Prediction: I think that the Magic will win this one in a blow out. I'm taking the Magic to cover the 6.5 points.
