MLB Betting: Seattle Mariners v Detroit Tigers

Eric G previews tonight's clash between the Mariners and the Tigers in an attempt to find the MLB betting value.

The American League West has been particularly strong this season, with the Angels and Rangers battling for top spot most of the season, with the Seattle Mariners not at all far behind those two clubs. They are very quietly putting on a strong campaign.

If the Mariners can stay healthy for the remaining of the season, they should contend for the top spot in the AL West. Their resurgence is in large part due to King Felix, who'll hit the mound on Wednesday seeking his 11th win on the season. He's coming off a great performance against the Indians and he's 4-2 lifetime against Detroit (including a 6-3 win this year on April 17th). Felix hasn't lost a game since May 19th where he's gone 6-0 in 10 games started in that stretch. Remarkably, he's even better on the road this year, at 6-1 with a 1.97 ERA.

The one thing that sticks out about Felix this season is his ferociousness against big teams. Prior to his last outing against Cleveland, he's beaten Texas, went 7 innings against Boston at Fenway and beat the best team in baseball, the Los Angeles Dodgers, at Dodger Stadium. The imposing Detroit Tigers line up will not intimidate him at all.

On the flip side, Armando Galarraga has had a very tough campaign, at 5-8 with a 5.09 ERA. This after starting the season 3-0. The Tigers are strong at Comerica Park, one of the top teams in the American League. However on Wednesday night, I expect King Felix to lead his Mariners to victory against the Tigers.
